On Monday 31 August 2020, Wymondley Road School is open for all our students and staff.
We want to ensure a safe and speedy ‘return to school’.
We have the appropriate health protocols in place including contact tracing, hand sanitizer, physical distancing and cleaning routines.
We encourage all students to bring their own filled water bottle as the water fountains will be closed. It is optional for our students to wear facemasks.
If you have any concerns or for some reason, your child is not returning to school on
Monday 31 August please let your classroom teacher know.
You will need to provide a medical certificate.
RETURN TO SCHOOL
The expectation is that ALL students will return to school on Monday 31st August unless sick. If you do not return to school, you must provide a medical certificate. If the absence is continued or ongoing, the medical certificate will need to be regularly updated.
STUDENTS ENTERING SCHOOL
Children can enter between 8.00am–8.30, gates will be locked shortly after. Two points of entry, gate one by the school pedestrian and gate two by Te Kohanga Reo / ECE. We would appreciate that no parents/caregivers/whānau come on to the school grounds therefore for clarity, no adults can go into the classrooms. There will be staff on duty at these two entry points, please be ON TIME for drop off and pick ups.
Authorised visitors that will be onsite for a period of time must come to the main office and either fill in the contact tracing register or scan the Wymondley Road School covid QR code that is stationed at prominent places in our reception area. Additionally, as is our standard practice all authorised visitors will need to sign in via vistab tablet.
The main car park gate will be closed. Authorised tradespeople, servicemen and couriers ONLY will have entry.
All other visitors*, including parents/ caregivers** must park outside the school gate and report to the school office and follow hygiene protocols and sign in processes (VisTab and covid QR code).
* Visitors must call ahead and make an appointment
** Parents/caregivers can only visit for late drop off/ early pick up. NO lunch drop-offs.
Staff, students, trades and service people who are sick MUST stay home. Parents must call the school office to advise absenteeism by 9.00am. Heading into winter, we need to be extra vigilant in this matter.
Anyone who is unwell should stay at home until two days after symptoms have gone away.
Individuals should be tested if they have the COVID 19 symptoms cough, runny nose, fever, loss of smell or difficulty breathing. Testing is recommended whether you are showing symptoms or not.
Please do not be offended but we are instituting a strict policy of isolating sick children immediately and sending them home. This is for the safety of everyone in our school whānau.
Physical distancing in schools remains important particularly when people are interacting. We are following the Ministry of Health guidelines for schools in this matter and are working to ensure there is distancing between students while in class and where possible, in the playground. The risks are lower at Alert Level 2.
HYGIENE AND CLEANING
When entering and leaving the classrooms and before and after breaks children will all have to use the hand sanitiser provided in each room. Children will have their own pens, pencils and books. Soap and paper/hand towels will, as usual, be available in bathrooms. Cleaners will complete daily cleans in line with MOH guidelines.
There will be no support to remote learning or home resources provided from Monday 31 August, although usual in class programmes will feature Google classroom and/or Seesaw.
In communication with students teachers provision may be available for students who are sick or need to isolate for a period of time.
